The Oberhausen police were deployed in large numbers on Friday evening (25.11.) and into the night on Saturday. To combat clan crime and prevent the spread of criminal structures, extensive checks were carried out in the city area together with the city of Oberhausen, the Oberhausen tax office, the Essen tax investigation department and the main customs office.
The operation focused on inspections of shisha bars, betting shops and general gambling establishments. During the operations, several illegal gambling machines, cash whose origin could not be clarified and untaxed tobacco products were seized by the investigators on the spot. In one location, equipment that could be used to operate a cannabis plantation, among other things, was found and also seized.
Dietmar Leyendecker Police Chief i.V.: "The Oberhausen police are exerting relentless pressure on possible criminal structures in our city. With extensive measures such as those taken this Friday evening, we continue to clearly show the boundaries to people who want to move outside our legal system."
Continuing investigations have started during the night.
