Second phase of the #NMDO prevention campaign begins
...we are looking for socially committed young people!
This year, we are focusing on single, lonely and/or widowed senior citizens. We are turning to socially committed young people who form collection teams with their neighbors or acquaintances and thus engage with the contents of the revised sticker album.

And this is precisely the aim of our prevention campaign, which we have developed in close cooperation with the LKA NRW. We want to inform senior citizens about the scams used by well-organized fraud gangs and provide them with practical tips on how to protect themselves.

Phase 1 successfully completed

Since the start of the campaign in September 2023, the police and cooperation partners have jointly distributed #NMDO sticker albums and sticker bags to the collection teams in over 90 campaigns. TV, radio, newspapers and social media platforms have reported on this with more than 250 media reports.

Phase 2 is now being prepared

The Oberhausen police officers are currently preparing the second phase of the prevention campaign. Initial talks are already planned with the Oberhausen Youth Parliament and the S-Club of Stadtsparkasse Oberhausen. We would like young people to redesign the sticker album and develop their own ideas for "cool" activities.

This could also lead to challenges, e.g. between schools, school classes, clubs and/or other groups, if the winners are always our senior citizens in the end, whom we want to inform in the long term.

But the young people shouldn't be left without a reward either, but we won't say any more about that now...

Who can take part?

Our attention is focused on all over-60s in Oberhausen!

You are also welcome to participate alone, again with your children and grandchildren and also for the second time!

This year, however, we would particularly like to see socially committed young people in collecting teams with single, widowed or lonely over-60 senior citizens to fill the #NMDO sticker albums with the stickers together.

Who should help design the #NMDO sticker album?

Schools, clubs, youth groups and all socially committed young people are immediately invited to redesign the sticker album in a youth-friendly way and develop cool ideas for the activities in which the collecting teams will receive #NMDO sticker bags.

When will the 2nd phase begin?
